Primary responsibilities are;


To function as an application architect on initiatives and provide end-to-end architecture.

Get aligned with a specific Line of Business and maintains close working relationships with senior management to understand Line of Business goals & requirements.

Influences technology decisions & directions for the aligned Line of Business. Must should have good business acumen, broad knowledge of technologies & tools and be a subject matter expert in certain areas.

Apply architectural principles, guidelines, standards, reference architecture, patterns & frameworks to deliver consistent and cost effective solutions.

Provide ad-hoc consulting at project/initiative level.

Participate or lead proof of concepts and prototypes.

Participate in and/or conduct design and code reviews.

Articulate the architecture/design in various UML/non-UML diagrams and guide the development team to implement the solution.

Be able to quickly understand the business requirements and help the various stakeholders in visualizing the solution.

Provide thought leadership and drive consensus among the stakeholders.

Continuously looks for ways to reduce cost and increase speed to market.

Strong leadership skills to bring all the stakeholders together; consensus builder and thought leader.

Must have previous experience as an architect on
Enterprise
level applications.
Modeling techniques using UML. Should have working experience in Together, Rational or other major modeling tools.

Experience in Business Process Management/Workflow, especially with tools such as Provision BPM.

Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) & Web Services.

Experience in Object Oriented Design. Should have developed solutions using Design Patterns.

Strong knowledge of J2EE and J2SE technologies.

Experience with various UI technologies such as Portal,
AJAX
, JSPs, Struts, JSF, and/or Tiles.

Development experience with various application servers (IBM WebSphere, JBoss).

Experience in delivering solutions with SSO and LDAP integration.

Experience on application performance, security, availability, scalability etc.

Knowledge and experience in various RDBMS systems such as Oracle, DB2, MS-SQL & MySQL and Teradata

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Works under minimal supervision, receiving general guidance from more seasoned architects or senior managers. Excellent verbal/written communication skills are must.
