Position Description:




The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, documentation, quality and management of ETL processes. The lead works closely with the Portfolio PM and the client.

Responsibilities
*Create ETL Design
*Ensure high quality ETL development work via standards, guidelines, quality assurance reviews and testing.
*Estimate the time and resource requirements of ETL development work.
*Follow the progress of ETL development and how it meets estimate and actual timelines.
*Raise critical technical issues to key stakeholders in a timely manner where they would impact on the project timeline.
*Mentor, train and develop less experienced ETL Developers
*Define and deliver consistent ETL standards, methodologies, guidelines & techniques.
*Ensure compliance to standards through code walkthroughs and metadata reports.



Skills/Experience:



Experience must be specific to Ab Initio, not Informatica.


Expert knowledge of the ETL technology in use on the project.

Expertise and experience in the ETL development tool. (Ab Initio)

10+ years experience with ETL tools or ETL programming.

5-10 years experience with IT projects and information development.

Experience with the ETL product being used.

Understands the range of options and best practices for common ETL design techniques such as change data capture, key generation and optimization.

Significant experience with data quality, data profiling, metadata management and reporting.

Knowledge of at least one database tool.

Keep up to date on the upgrade options, enhancements, add-ons and features in the ETL tool with a view to improving the productivity of the project.
