LAMP Web Developer - PHP, MySQL, LINUX, Code Igniter, Flash - Telecommuting

Based in the Los Angeles, CA, area, we are a privately held/funded start-up company that specializes in developing a social networking medium for artists of all kinds to showcase their work to global artists. Initially, you will be working from your own home but must be within commuting distance to attend occasional in-person meetings in the West Hollywood area. We prefer candidates who live in the Los Angeles, Orange County, CA, or San Diego, CA areas. This is a FT/Permanent (Sr. level) LAMP Web Developer position.

Responsibilities:
You will be the sole developer maintaining and developing new applications for a cutting edge Website that supports a global community of artists and people interested in the arts (Film, Music, Fashion, and Art). The site is built in PHP 5.2, Cent OS 5.2, MYSQL 5.0.67, Code Igniter Framework. We also have built a robust mobile Website that will need to be supported. This position involves 30% new feature development, 60% maintenance development and 10% site management. Qualified applicants must have experience in both site management as well as development.

Experience:
* Experience developing Web LAMP applications using PHP 5, AJAX, JavaScript
* Strong foundation in MYSQL & relational databases
* Basic knowledge of Web technologies such as HTML and CSS
* Provide PHP5 programming and functional testing for our website
* Create Web applications and maintain company Website (and mobile website)
* Management of system architecture
* Database development and management
* Maintenance of Mobile Application as it ties into existing code base
. Makes development recommendations as necessary
* Testing, debugging and troubleshooting

Required Qualifications/Education:
* At least 4 years of hands-on PHP development experience
* Must have strong Web development experience including DHTML, Javascript, AJAX, and CSS
* Must have strong experience with Flash, ActionScript, and Flash Player
* Should have an understanding of Streaming Media technology
* Should have an understanding with File Formats and File Conversions (MP4 to Flash File)
* Basic knowledge of setting up Tomcat Server
* Basic Linux SA experience would be helpful.
* Basic understanding of Mobile Application development.
* SVN on a SW development life cycle
* Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Modular/Object-Oriented design
* Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, database design, and normalization techniques
. Experience with command line Shell Scripting in Linux based environment
* Ability to meet deadlines on projects tasks
* Ability to work well independently and under pressure
* Strong documentation practices and attention to detail
* Strong desire to learn emerging technologies and to innovate new solutions

Compensation:
$120,000 - $150,000 base salary
