Description
The Network Analysts role is to provide break-fix support, build, and implement network systems across the enterprise. This includes installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, associated software, and communication links. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions. Position Requirements College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3+ years equivalent work experience. Preferred Certifications - Cisco CCNA, CCDA, Avaya, or equivalent. Extensive hands-on technical knowledge of Network Systems, Protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, Frame Relay, TCP/IP, T1, PPP, 802.11x, etc. Knowledge of network management and analysis tools, including Concord Communications, HP OpenView, Tivoli Netview, CiscoWorks, or equivalent. Experience with client/server environments. Experience working in a switched and routed network environment. Hardware, software, and network connection troubleshooting experience. Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, consisting of Cisco landscape. Skilled at installing/configuring Switches, Routers, Hubs, Access Points. Knowledge of Anti-Virus software, Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, and other network security measures. Good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Highly self motivated, directed and attention to detail. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Position is for 2nd shift and all work to be done on client site.
