Description
Description: LAN / WAN Administrator Position for Government Contractor. Monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to protect the data systems and databases from unauthorized users. Identify potential threats and respond to reported security violations. Determine causes of security breaches and research, recommend, and implement changes to procedures to protect data from future violations. Assist in educating users on security procedures. Additional key functions are to administer user access within defined rules and procedures for a user population of 10,000 customers calling in. this administrative function requires the candidate be able to clearly listen to customer problems and once interpreted, assist in providing access to the mainframe environment. Required: Requires Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience. Must be capable of obtaining security clearance as issued by the US Department of Customs. Desired: Understanding the security policies and procedures authorizing access, using authentication tools present as part of CA-Top Secret software, familiarity with OS/390 and ancillary functions including the ability to perform security administration functions from a 3270 like environment.
