Description
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a short term (6 months maximum) contractor to assist with network changes needed for the entire DHHS IT infrastructure to comply with mandated directives.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Develop configurations for Firewalls and Switches
- Test configurations
- Implementation
- Re-IP address various LAN devices (servers, printers, switches, firewalls)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements.
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the following areas:
- Cisco PIX 500 series equipment: Configuring and troubleshooting
- Cisco 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 series switches: Configuring and troubleshooting
- Cisco CatOS and Cisco IOS

Other Required Experience:
- Experience modifying servers, computers, printers, peripherals for IP re-addressing
- Experience configuring Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Netware 6.x, and Windows XP networking components
- Knowledge of HP, Lexmark, and other network printers and print servers
- High Level Understanding of IP protocols and addressing
- Strong communications skills both written and oral
- Ability to work with clients to test applications after IP addressing has been completed
- Must be able to travel 100% for at least 6 weeks throughout the State of North Carolina. Overnight stays will be required (2-3 nights per week). Travel expenses will be reimbursed at the State rates.
- Must be able to work 2nd shift hours (approximately 3:00 PM - 12:00 midnight)
- Strong communications skills

Preferred:
- Familiarity with working on large IT projects and working as a team player
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve Network Infrastructure problems
