Requirement Description

Position: LAN/WAN Engineer III
Location: Alexandria, VA


Duties:
Configure, manage and maintain CISCOWORKS
Configure, manage and maintain CISCO routers, switches and firewalls; across 17 sites
Develop and implement new technologies like IPv6, Multicast and VoIP
Provide tier 3 support to 17 sites on all reported network related issues
Cross train in other ENOC areas to provide the best possible support to the customer

Qualifications:
Associates degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field
Cisco Certified Network Professional
Cisco Certified Design Professional

Must have:
Requires 8 years of relevant experience in CISCO production, solutions, designs and implementations; Must demonstrate high effective communications skill both oral and written such as documentation and presentations; Knowledgeable in the methods and techniques of project planning and management to include the use of Microsoft Project; Requires considerable knowledge of computer operations, telecommunications equipment, software applications that are used within a networking environment; A considerable knowledge of Active Directory and the Client implementation of Active Directory; Must be able to work in a team environment and be mission oriented

Preferred experience:
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer; Creating and maintaining detailed Visio drawing; Experience implementing IDS and IPS technologies; Experience in security event logging and event correlation

Working conditions:
12 x 5 Enterprise Network Operation Center; Fast paced challenging environment supporting mission critical system for a large organization.
