Lead Engineer

SUMMARY:
A Lead Engineer will need to meet the same technical skill requirements as a Field Service Engineer/Systems Engineer depending on the team they lead.

REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Same as Customer Engineer or Systems Engineer job description depending on team.
Review teams daily open call report to ensure customer SLA's are meet and redistribute calls as necessary to balance work load between engineers.
First point of contact for team member escalations.
Contact for Solution Center dispatch conflicts.
Research and become aware of new manufacture and industry standard certifications.
Responsible to help team members achieve their certification requirements.
Pre approve time off for team members (vacation/personal days).
Training of new team members.
Ensure team members adhere to departmental dress code.
Responsible for writing team member yearly reviews
Assist in managing projects as needed
Other duties may be assigned.

Actions and Results:
Performs hardware and desktop troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common computer software and hardware problems.
Repairs, installs, and upgrades computer hardware and software components as required.
Ensures compliance with company technical and quality standards/procedures as well as the highest degree of customer satisfaction.
Escalates problems within parameters.
Develops and maintains client relationships and identifies opportunities to extend existing agreements.
Communicate sales leads.
Maintains effective communication with internal Call Dispatchers and with customers.
Completes required documentation for all Work Orders and provide updates in Real Time.
Work to completion.
Required to do some after hours and weekend installs as scheduled.

Technology/Skills:
A+ Certification required, Network + or MCP preferred
In depth knowledge of HP and Lexmark Laser printers
Expert on desktop hardware and operating systems
Working knowledge of networking essentials
Working knowledge of Microsoft desktop applications
Demonstrate the ability to develop or possess strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrate the ability to develop or possess strong organizational skills
Knowledge of utility tools, including virus applications and signatures
Basic knowledge of Workstation backups and restores
Server hardware and Operating System (Microsoft and Novell) troubleshooting
Ability to be part of the 24x7 pager rotation for Server Support
Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
Ability to communicate effectively with customers & internal staff
Ability to travel to customer locations.
