To help us continue driving their business forward, our client is in search of an experienced LINUX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR at their San Antonio, TX location. APPLY TODAY, if your background includes:


  • Candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining Linux workstations and servers, including Web servers, in support of business processing requirements.
  • Performs software installations and upgrades to Linux operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.
  • Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum level of performance.
  • Administrator will ensure Linux workstations/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Candidate will also ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Candidate will support media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services.
  • Candidate will conduct routine hardware and software audits of Linux workstations/servers for compliance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines. Perform other duties as required.



    • Required Skills:
  • RedHat or Oracle Enterprise/Linux, Data Protector, Performance and Tuning.
  • Solid understanding of UNIX commands, system administration and configuration; Secure Shell; POSIX Scripting;
  • Skilled in Enterprise Backup Solutions; Basic concept of Network Storage Devices; Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio; Solid understanding of DoD IT Security Policies and Procedures are a Must-Have.
  • Non-Technical Skills: Good communication skills, Detail Oriented and Customer Service oriented.



    • Minimum Required Education:

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 8 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.



    US Citizenship required and is a pre-requisite to meet security clearance requirements. Current government security clearance HIGHLY DESIRED.
