LINUX (Ubuntu) Network Tech Support

Location: Springfield, NJ
Duration: Full-time/perm

Responsibilities:
• Linux system administration support
• Responsible for high-level support and installation of Linux based Point of Sale systems.
• Diagnosing system issues
• Diagnosing network and VPN problems
• Setting up VPN's, scripting upgrades and fixes and implementing and managing a distributed systems management technology.
• Must be able to take call and completely handle technical support problems.
• ‘Second tier’ support over the phone


Requirements:
• MUST have experience giving tech support over the phone
• Must have experience with Linux system administration and support
• Experience should include the use of rescue environments and Bash or Perl scripting.
• Working knowledge of networking including subneting and Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and the ability to diagnose network issues using standard utilities.
• Experience with Ubuntu systems (or Red Hat)
• Experience with SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL, and POS systems are a preferred.
