Description
Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Lab Applications Analyst to join our team in Palo Alto, CA.

NOTE: We will also consider applicants willing to work remotely from a virtual home office anywhere in the U.S.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide application support and development to a world-renowned medical center.
  • Execute projects and enhancements within the LIS (Laboratory Information System) environments to support the needs of the department.
  • Provide second level support, including on-call rotations, in response to user problems and questions regarding system functionality, operations, input/output, reporting, and general operational procedures.
  • Work with users to identify requirements for maintaining application tables, dictionaries, and parameters as required for system operation and configuration and provide impact analysis to users for proposed changes.
  • Ensure optimization, availability and functionality of the LIS systems.
  • Develop custom reports (e.g. Crystal) and data extracts as required by users
  • Work collaboratively with IT peers in order to support the overall quality, responsiveness, and service level agreements (SLA) of the IT department and Perot Systems.

    Required Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience in an application support role for a large IT enterprise
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

    Desired Skills:
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Healthcare, Clinical Laboratory, Microbiology, Outreach Laboratory, Transfusion Service, or Surgical Pathology
  • Experience supporting one or more of the following applications: Misys Laboratory (Sunquest FlexiLab), WyndGate Safetrace TX, Impac PowerPath (Tamtron), Sage AccPac CRM
  • Experience utilizing Crystal Reports Developer
  • Experience supporting or developing MS SQL, InterSystems Cache (MUMPS) and/or Oracle
  • Experience supporting and working in a Unix and/or Linux OS environment
  • Experience supporting application integration (e.g. HL7, XML, etc.)
  • Experience working on Project Teams
  • Familiarity with IT project management methodologies and ITIL.

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Computer Science, or Healthcare related major
  • Experience may be substituted for education.
