Description
Our client is a prestigious research and pharmaceutical company seeking a technician to provide professional and effective deskside support for the end-user and laboratory PC environments. The
Support Analyst must be able to effectively communicate with systems, network and database administrators and IS/IT scientific applications staff in order to provide transparent technical solutions. S/He works to provide the community with a high standard of customer support while complying with corporate tech procedures.

Primary duties of this position include:
  • Deploying and maintaining end-user and laboratory computer equipment, printers, phones, mobile devices, and related systems
  • Performing installations, service and repair
  • Managing equipment inventory, warranties and licensing
  • Providing technical support in activities associated with identification, prioritization, research, and resolution of reported problems using trouble-ticketing system

Experience/Skills
  • At least 3 years of work experience providing deskside Windows computer support in a corporate LAN/WAN environment
  • Experience in a scientific research (pharmaceutical or biotech) lab environment or scientific lab instrumentation PC hardware and configuration required
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows XP operating system and Microsoft Office, Outlook and Web-based applications
  • Solid understanding of PC hardware
  • Ability to support basic network troubleshooting and remote access technologies (VPN, SecurID, Blackberry)
  • Ability to quickly and accurately assess problems and take corrective action that will minimize negative impact to customer and time spent obtaining solution
  • Good written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, excellent customer service skills, and ability to work with all levels of company employees
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent years of experience)
