This position is with the worlds leading Software Company, headquartered in Redmond, WA.



Lab/Test Engineer

Position Description:

??? Maintains a set of machines usually in a laboratory setting.

??? Troubleshoots hardware and software problems as required.

??? Installs software and Operating System images and runs daily automated and manual tests based on a clear set of instructions.

??? Uses various internal testing tools on a wide array of automated and manual tests.

??? Provides daily status reports on test scenarios, lab/machine issues and configurations.

??? Moving/lifting of hardware is required.

??? Although some scripting and programming experience would be helpful, this is not a programming position.



Qualifications

??? 1-2 years work related experience preferred.

??? Previous Microsoft experience strongly preferred, especially if it is with Entertainment and Devices.

??? Experience with automated and manual testing using Microsoft tools (e.g. WTT, ASI, TFS, etc.).

??? General knowledge of personal computers, applications software, and operating systems required.

??? Experience setting up and maintaining computer hardware, installing/upgrading software and operating systems required.

??? Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills required.

??? Batch file and/or scripting knowledge helpful, but not required.

??? Basic understanding of Windows domains, Server operating systems, and networking protocols is strongly recommended.

??? Should be able to work independently and as part of a team.

??? Must be able to express ideas clearly in oral and written form.

??? Must be able to learn new skills quickly and then train others.

??? Must be able to adapt to changing requirements when necessary.

??? BA/AA degree, technical training certification, or equivalent work experience/training desirable.
