LABVIEW DEVELOPER and TEST ENGINEER

Purpose and Description of Position:::

You will use your strong LabVIEW, test, and instrumentation design background to provide support to engineering and implementation teams involved in the design and development of new instrumentation and automated test systems.

Determine and develop effective and efficient approaches to technical assignments and processes, standard and non-standard.

Develop test strategies, write test plans, and develop test methods and protocols.

This is a hands-on position. The candidate will work very closely with electrical engineers, embedded software engineers, mechanical engineers, technicians, system architects, and project managers.

Desired Qualifications:::

High level of proficiency and current experience with National Instruments' LabVIEW and TestStand. NI LabVIEW Certified Developer and NI Certified Architect -or- the ability to obtain these certifications in a reasonably short period of time due to a high level of proficiency and expertise.

Strong test background. Ability to design, plan, execute and document testing of complex devices and systems (electronic hardware, software, mechanical). This includes integration testing, unit testing, characterization testing, qualification, debug and system "bring-up".

Experience with custom and specialized instrumentation design.

Experienced with PC-based testing and instrumentation employing programs and applications developed in LabVIEW, TestStand, and other NI software products.

High level of proficiency with system design, electrical/electronic circuit design, and system integration. Must be able to effectively and efficiently perform in a multi-disciplined design and engineering environment.

Must have good documentation, requirements capture/definition, specification and report writing skills a must.

Strong electro-mechanical skills, to include work with sensors, transducers, solenoids, motors, valves, actuators, motion, etc. and their related control systems (electronic and software control).

Experience and hands-on skills with custom and specialized hardware and fixture design, to include signal conditioning, electrical interfaces (analog and digital), and data communication.

Proficiency with high performance analog, digital and mixed-signal designs.

Data acquisition, signal conditioning, data communication, and system interface design experience. Knowledge of industry components and technology. Ability to apply noise reduction techniques, noise and interference immunity techniques, filtering, and signal integrity.

Proficiency using a wide variety of test equipment and lab / bench tools. Strong laboratory skills including prototyping, fabrication, and working with custom / specialized equipment.

Education / Training and Background:::

BS / MS degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or mechanical engineering (with strong electronics skills) - or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Military training and technical experience accepted, along with relevant industry experience.

5+ years of successful project experience in a regulated industry and technical environment.
