Description
Have you been at your law office helpdesk position for a while and have an itch to move up? Do you feel like you can manage a few helpdesk people while fielding calls while creating customer satisfaction? Do you want the opportunity to be taken under the wing of a Director of IT?

Then read below:

We're looking for a working supervisor/lead. You will actually handle calls, as well as supervise two helpdesk technicians. They will be responsible for improving and maintaining customer service standards. You will work directly with the Director of IT to do the technician's annual reviews, discipline, advancement, etc. Essentially, it's a good opportunity for someone that wants to learn more about IT management, rather then work towards becoming the more technical server guru type.

NOTE: BELOW IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!!!! IF YOU ARE NOT NEAR EXPERT IN MS OFFICE DO NOT APPLY PLEASE. YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

You need to be fluent and fairly expert in the following:
MS Office suite, particularly Word. You need to know Word to the expert level and few outside legal are at this level. You need to understand and be able to articulate the differences and interactions between macros, styles and templates. Work here is on large, complex documents. 100+ page documents with images, footers, headers, numbering, tables, etc all in the same document are not uncommon.

You need to be at least proficient if not an expert in these following packages:

Softwise Innova or other customized macro suite
Hummingbird PCDocs/DM5 document management (or iManage, it's primary competitor in the legal space)
Various PDF creation and handling tools
HP printers and drivers (these have profound effects on the output of documents above.)

Various other legal apps are helpful, but not critical such as:
Prolaw
Livenote
Concordance/Opticon
Trial Director
Sanction
Elite/Webview
ADP eTime

Fundamental and conceptual (not detailed) knowledge of the following infrastructure:

TCP/IP....routing, firewalling, etc.
Email flow, primarily SMTP email.
Basic network topology...hubs, switches, routers, NICs, etc
Basic business telephone system troubleshooting (is it the cable, the handset or a service problem, etc)

I will be looking for applicants that have at least 75% of these qualifications and there is no negotiation with the MS Office. You must be at least a near expert. You will be tested.
