We have an immediate Full time opportunity for an experienced Lawson Application Developer at our San Antonio, Texas corporate headquarters. This is a Full time role within the internal Information Technology organization at Sirius, supporting our core Lawson 9x financial and order processing systems. No travel is required, and some relocation assistance is available for this role.

Position Summary:

This position will provide ongoing business analysis, development, and application support for our Lawson enterprise applications. This role will work closely with the business users and system administrator to provide daily support, understand requirements and recommend solutions. This position will serve as the final point of escalation for all technical issues related to the Lawson applications and infrastructure.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

SOFTWARE LIFECYCLE

  • Have a thorough understanding of the Lawson business applications to assist end users application requests, business analysis, design management, change management, and integration requirements
  • Participate in all aspects of the Software Lifecycle including requirements definition, design, development, testing, and implementation
  • Meet with business users and partners to discuss and understand requirements and develop application solutions.
  • Develop, test and debug applications, prior to deployment, ensuring the end product meets all specifications
  • Design, code and test major features, both independently and working jointly with other team members, to deliver software product enhancements or upgrades
  • Work with business users to align data requirements for accurate and timely reporting and analytics
  • Prepare system and user documentation to be utilized with Lawson applications
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of all design and support activities

    INTEGRATION LIFECYCLE
  • Participate in all aspects of the Integration Lifecycle including requirements definition, design, development, testing and implementation
  • Define, map, develop and maintain enterprise application integration points from both external and internal sources
  • Develop and document data migration and integration plans
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the internal workflows and processes of the enterprise applications

    Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • 1 years experience with Lawson 9x technology & 9x applications
  • 3 years experience in Lawson application support in both the Windows and Unix environments.
  • Experience developing Cobol code in a Lawson environment.
  • Experience with Lawson LBI a plus.
  • Experience developing using Lawson 4GL codes, processflow, Design Studio, and Javascript.
  • Sound understanding of the Lawson framework and architecture.
  • 3 Years minimum experience and understanding of Lawson applications with emphasis on Financials, Procurement, Distribution, and Processflow.
  • Working understanding of Microsoft SQL 2000 and 2003, to include experience creating SQL statements to troubleshoot Back End Lawson data issues.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to adapt technical solutions to complex business situations and strategies
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good project management skills
  • Must be able to work independently and with little supervision
  • Ability to learn and support new applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills

    Education:
  • A Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field and three (3) or more years of IT systems analysis experience, OR
  • Any similar combination of education and experience
