Description
As our Lead ABAP Developer, you will lead the SAP ABAP programming design and development primarily focusing on the development of portal and eCommerce applications. This position will be part of a larger implementation team during development and will be the primary support of portal and eCommerce applications on an ongoing basis. This position will create project estimates, lead the development effort and participate in the development of ABAP code on large and medium size projects and implementations related to G&K's eCommerce and portal applications.

You will:
  • Assume a lead role in the development of ABAP code to support SAP portal applications. Maintain a thorough understanding of the SAP application portfolio and G&K’s application architecture.
  • Lead the design and development of complex ABAP programs including system interfaces
  • Lead the technical walk-through process
  • Prepare development estimates that will be used for project planning purposes
  • Assist in identifying and resolving SAP issues across multiple functional areas
  • Provide problem resolution for SAP support issues to internal business partners and maintain support logs and technical documentation
  • Research SAP/OSS notes to resolve issues
  • Provide weekly status reports
  • Establish coding and development standards for portal technologies
  • Recommend technical solutions to meet business needs
  • Lead code reviews and identify opportunities to improve existing programs
  • Resolve issues with programs that are causing system performance problems.

    Experience/Skills
    To be successful in this role, you should have the following education, qualifications, and skills:
    ·Bachelor's degree in Business/Computer Science/MIS or equivalent experience
    ·Prior experience in at least one full lifecycle of implementation with the design and development of a SAP Enterprise Portal application
    ·5 + years of ABAP programming experience
    ·ABAP development and SAP R/3 workbench tools
    ·Experience with SAP's NetWeaver Developer Studio, Sapscript, and RFC's is a plus
    ·Experience with Enterprise Portal, Web Dynpro, and Web Methods is a plus
    ·SAP ABAP Certification is a plus
    ·SAP Portals Certification is a plus
    ·SAP Apparel & Footwear Solution (AFS) a plus
