Description:
As a lead Developer, you will design and/or maintain the target business object model and assess the impact of the future business architecture on existing and future applications design. You will also understand/identify the requirements for future application architecture changes and identify the techniques and technologies that should be applied at the application level; help define the system and operational requirements that the computing infrastructure must support; and identify, analyze and address any inter-application dependencies and interfaces. You will work with the LOB Architects to determine the most appropriate application partitioning to achieve the performance and scalability requirements.
You will participate in business and technology planning sessions and anticipate future business/technology changes. Work with Business and Information Architects to review business drivers, needs and strategies and understand implications to the application design. Communicate implications of design decisions, issues and plans to business and technology leadership. Provide support/guidance to the development teams during the analysis, development and testing processes; provide expert knowledge of the application design and consult to Business and Technology teams when detailed application knowledge is needed, and identify/mitigate risks to delivering solution on time.
You will participate in the process to develop and evaluate technical frameworks. You will specify risks associated with (business, application, technical) component implementation. You will consult with application development and infrastructure teams to plan the order and content of successive releases of the components. Work with LOB Architects, review business drivers, needs and strategies and understands implications for technical approach. Prepares solutions to implement the technical design, and proactively identifies and validates opportunities to share/re-use existing components where possible.
You must have experience with high volume applications and understand how to design the technical solution to scale and perform in a Real Time environment and have an exceptional understanding of the IBM Mainframe z/OS environments (ie, CICS, DB2, etc.), enterprise level toolsets in a Parallel Sysplex, High Availability environment, and extremely proficient in Assembler language (both application and system level expertise).
This role will initially learn the technology that is in place today (complex Assembler footprint for data management) in our core applications and then will help drive evolving core applications internal data access architecture to more current technologies available on the z/OS platform.
Qualifications
Minimum five years of Applications design experience on the IBM platform - technology implementation experience a plus
Extensive Mainframe Assembler experience
Strong skills in project management methodologies and tools
Strong skills in architecture methods
Strong Data Re-Engineering Tool experience
Understanding of relevant technologies and development life cycles
Strong business and product knowledge
Must have experience in Cobol.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact with all technical and non technical members of the organization
Minimum of three years of work experience in the following areas: Application technology, Middleware technology, database technologies, and network connectivity
