Description
MUST HAVE IDMS EXPERIENCE. The candidate filling this Lead Applications System Analyst/Programmer position will under the general direction from the Applications Development Project Manager, provide detailed analysis and programming expertise to the New project and support the Current application systems programs, including the performance of systems analysis, specifications development, application coding, unit and integration testing tasks. Interface with areas affected by the projects such as end users, computer services, and client services as required. Participate in project meetings and is responsible for personal tracking and analysis. Adhere to quality standards and procedures. Provide technical and analytical guidance to other team members as needed RESPONSIBILITIES: o Producing detailed specifications and analysis o Production support of current application systems o Application coding o Unit and Systems testing o Quality assurance of deliverables o Meeting with SBU*s o Analytical guidance and support the other team members and the Project Manager EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate must have the following: It would be ideal if this person demonstrated technical leadership skills and expertise, be a self-starter, and have at least 10 years of programming experience with a minimum of <5> years experience being a lead technical person on a development team. Specific computing platform is mainframe development with some web expertise. Experience in large-scale system design, with high volume transaction processing deployment and operation and experience in preparing cost/time estimates for development projects is most desirable.

Requirements:

* A high level of technical skill and experience required in IDMS, COBOL II, CICS, VSAM, MVS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, MQ Series, MS Office Professional Products, systems analysis and systems testing is necessary * Experience working with Windows software * Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel are necessary. * Proactive approach to problem resolution. * Detail oriented and a team player. * Ability to interact effectively with all departments and employee levels. * Excellent written and oral communication skills EDUCATION The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree, with coursework in the information processing or business-related curricula, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.df-tc
