I have been asked to identify ideally regionally local Independent Consultant Lead Architect candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with a high degree of familiarity with Internet, multi-tier architectures, service oriented architecture, component models, middleware technologies, modern programming languages and design methodologies, a strong knowledge of real-time and transactional processing, prior experience developing trading, matching and crossing (ECN) systems, extensive domain expertise in financial/capital markets and traded products, experience architecting and designing in Unix (Sun Solaris in particular), Linux and Windows environments, design and programming experience with: C#, C++, Java, XML, JSP, EJB, .Net, COM., demonstrated experience with real-time Internet streaming data communication protocols (e.g., Bang Networks, TIBCO Rendezvous, Caplin, Live Wire, etc.), experience with communications protocols and messaging: TCP/IP, RMI, JMS, ODP, knowledge of relational databases, Structured Query Language (SQL), Oracle, PL/SQL, and query tuning, comfortable working in a fast paced environment, juggling multiple tasks and able to meet aggressive deadlines, able to write clear and concise architectural diagrams & design documents, a strong understanding of FIX for an initial six months+ independent contract in the Midtown, New York City, New York area. The selected ideally regionally local Independent Consultant Lead Architect candidate will be responsible for setting broad architectural direction and guidelines for products revolving around the electronic trading platform serving the global foreign exchange market which will include working with product management, development, infrastructure and QA to establish software and hardware architecture for new products, assisting product development/technology management in establishing overall technology direction and providing recommendations to senior management and ideas on how to meet new product development challenges from an overall architectural perspective Specific Job Responsibilities: -Lead architect on project to develop a new generation of electronic trading platform products serving the global foreign exchange market. -Architect order routing and alternative execution models. -Hands-on architect of web-based products. -Provide technical architectural direction for internal team and external vendors. -Evaluate current strategies and methods; recommend changes and improvements. -Evaluate and recommend technology vendors and systems integrators. -Setting and Driving development best practice -Chair quarterly code reviews This long term project in the Midtown, New York City, New York area offers an initial six months+ independent contract with a competitive starting rate range with no expenses available.
