Thisperson will work closely with the business area representatives and developmentteams, providing key analytical support and must have strong communicationskills and business acumen as well as knowledge of formal Software DevelopmentMethodologies and deep experience with formalized requirements management,analysis and design techniques. The candidate will assist less experienced analystsin completing tasks and providing work direction and support to teams ofanalysts on large scale development efforts, and will provide guidance andshare ownership in the development and implementation of the requirementspractice within the Reinsurance Business Systems organization.
Thecandidate may participate as an individual contributor on smaller scaledevelopment efforts
REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Accountabilities: . Actively participate in the project problem oropportunity definition and initiation of large scale delivery efforts;assessment of the solution risk thru understanding business impacts,environment and technology constraints, and industry trends. . Collaborate with project manager, architects, techlead and other core project team members to determine the appropriaterequirements practices for a particular project. . Responsible for the success of the RequirementsDefinition Process for assigned projects; - Gather, analyze, document and communicatebusiness and system requirements. - Ensure the requirements are unambiguous andunderstandable by both business users, software development and functional QA teams. - Translate business and system requirementsinto system deliverables. - Analyze the impact of solutions on currentprocesses and existing systems. - Conduct and participate in walkthroughs andreviews to validate quality and obtain approval for system and businessrequirements, conceptual and logical models and designs.
-Validate solution meets business needs and requirements - Assist QA in defining test strategy andassessing risks.
-Lead the Business Process and User Acceptance Test Phase
-Facilitate the implementation and training phases of a project . Work with Project Manager, Architects, BusinessRepresentatives, Developers, and QA to develop project plans, taskdependencies, estimates and resource skill requirements; support riskmanagement and change management activities.
- Productionsupport for implemented applications . Provide support and mentoring to other BSAs andteam members to facilitate a better understanding of the techniques, processesand deliverables required to support successful project delivery. . As the organization grows, provide HR managementto a small team of BSAs. Education: Minimum: College Degree in Business, Finance, MIS orrelated field. Desired: MBA or MS in related discipline(management, engineering; Comp Science) Work Experience: . 7+ years experience developing and supportingbusiness technology systems in a large-scale environment across multiplehardware and software platforms in financial services industry, preferablyproperty casualty. . 3+ years in a business systems analyst or equivalentrole. . 3+ years experience in a leadership role onsoftware delivery projects. Technical Skills: . Demonstrated competency in developing efficientand effective solutions to complex business problems. . Excellent skills in defining business requirementswith an appreciation for process and technical constraints and opportunities. . Skilled in the use of modeling and requirementsmanagement tools; Use Cases and UML; OOAD; (Rational; Enterprise Architect) . Experience with multiple software developmentlifecycle methodologies (Iterative, Agile) and practices; proven flexibilityand understanding of appropriateness of methods given project goals anddynamics. . Proven success in facilitating requirementssessions with all levels of business and technology audiences. . Demonstrated project management background/skillswith experience organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects fromvision thru implementation. . Ability to analyze project needs and determineappropriate resources needed to meet objectives. . Ability to identify and resolve complex issues. . Previous experience in a developer and/or QA roledesired. Leadership: . Strong leadership skills including facilitation,coaching and mentoring; ability to direct others. . Ability to articulate a big picture view andtranslate into specific business analysis deliverables to be detailed by otherBSA team members or on smaller scale projects ability to prepare requireddeliverables. . Previous experience in a project manager orproject lead is desired. Communication: . Exceptional verbal and written communicationskills .
