Position Description

* Utilizing knowledge of the customer's business operations, processes, IS&T policies and industry best practice, advises customer as to the capabilities of BMC IS&T solutions and how they can be applied to further enable the customers business.
* Develops and recommends solutions and strategies, based on the analysis of customer business goals, objectives, needs, and available technology for those business needs that can be solved with automated systems.
* Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements.
* Develops relationships with BMC business users at all levels in the organization and with other IS&T groups.
* Develops and delivers management level presentations to effectively articulate the objective and pertinence of proposed solutions.
* Researches and understands constituents' business model and processes in order to build appropriate requirements specifications, use cases and solutions
* Effectively manages the execution of assessment, solution development and proof of concept efforts
* Clearly communicates in oral and in written communication; leverages effective listening skills, responds in a timely manner and keep others informed
* Understands complex strategic concepts and relationships by analyzing problems from different points of view. Applies broad knowledge and experience to address customer issues
* Inspires customer confidence through professional presence, self-confidence, execution, delivery and industry experience
* Exhibits understanding of current events and developments within the IT industry, especially within areas of collaboration, portfolio management, and software lifecycle development methodologies.

Using business process engineering techniques, the BSA:

* Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
* Designs details of automated systems.

Position Requirements

The optimal candidate will be proficient in object modeling, use case analysis and use of UML notation or a similar methodology. The BSA will provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems and lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.

The candidate should possess facilitation skills which include the application of facilitation tools and techniques. Understands team dynamics; has the ability to apply collaborative problem solving techniques; understands how to deal effectively with team conflict and other difficult situations involving team members. Possess planning and organization skills to develop and lead workshop events such a joint application development workshops.

The BSA is responsible for planning and conducting, in partnership with business clients, the analysis of complex business issues. Based on wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Provides leadership in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business clients' requirements. Creates specifications for business systems to meet these business requirements. When system automation is identified, facilitates the translation of business requirements to system specifications and designs.

This includes working in partnership with business clients to:
* understand business clients' strategies, goals and objectives
* develop new business processes to meet changing business requirements
* develop detailed recommendations for automation opportunities
* develop process re-design specifications

Requires an experienced professional who has supplemented basic professional knowledge and skills with substantial experience in business system, business process analysis as well as application and database development standards.
* Must work with a results orientation and a commitment to teamwork and customer service.
* Must demonstrate an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of supported application technologies and be capable of implementing these technologies.
* Must have project leadership experience.
B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science, B.B.A. in Management Information Systems or equivalent experience.
Experience with Agile development methodologies desired
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
Competent with Microsoft Office Products, Internet Explorer, Windows 2000, MS Word, and MS Excel.
Consulting Experience preferred
5+ years of experience leading business process re-engineering efforts in complex environments
Significant experience with quote to cash processes and Oracle Financials.
