Description
This critical role provides the technical leadership to suppliers and partners for platform and system design. They will collect, analyze, define software requirements and develop systems specifications, as well as perform architectural and detailed design using object-oriented methodologies while providing leadership on medium to large-scale software projects and subprojects. In addition, coordinate software sizing, estimating, and planning activities as well as coordinating technical feasibility studies, as needed both internally and with suppliers and partners. This individual will participate in development and verification activities with our vendors. They must ensure compliance with FDA, corporate, and divisional standards as applicable. They are to provide input to and participate in software process improvement activities, additionally giving guidance and mentorship to the more junior software engineers. It is expected they will continuously improve through attending classes, further education, self-study, on-the-job training, etc. Experience BS in computer engineering, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or computer science, and 8-11 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have 5-7 years experience in leading small software teams on medium to large-scale full life cycle development projects as well as at least 5 years experience with wireless communication and communications technologies. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of C/C++, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Requirements Management, UML as well as XML, HTML Java Scripts, Visual Studio, SQL Scripts, SQL Server with ClearCase, ClearQuest, RequisitePro, Rational Unified Process, and Rational UCM. Additionally they will have strong background with C#, Net framework ADO.NET and ASP.NET development. Knowledge of FDA GMP / GLP / QSR and Project Management experience are helpful. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are required.
