Description
Our client seeks Lead C-Unix Programmer to develop in-house software necessary to automate Operations processes involved in the transport, storage and maintenance of containers for the transportation industry. The C-Unix Programmer will consult with project owners, customers, and programmers. The C-Unix Programmer will develop programs for mobile communications devices and necessary updates to the next version software. Strong organizational, full development cycle, programming, communication, leadership, and training skills a must. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Reports to VP of Information Systems.The C-Unix programmer will be responsible for integrating and developing full cycle of software including; design, development, production and training documentation. This will be a leadership role leading talented programmers. Programmers here are expected to take ownership of projects and should not have to be micro-managed.df-tc

Experience/Skills
Required Experience: Software developed using C, Java, SQL on Unix/Linux Servers. In-house systems are character/console based. Supporting Windows XP on the desktops with terminal emulators to access Unix legacy applications along with typical Microsoft products such as Office and Exchange Server.Requirements: Bachelors Degree, Strong Unix or Linux, Strong SQL (prefer PostGreSQL but other SQL databases okay), Strong C/C++ and familiarity with Java. Mobile Communications experience a plus.
