Description
This position is for a Lead Computer Operator in Distributed Systems Operations. There are two openings for this position.

Please note this position will work night shift. Typical work week will be 3 days (7pm to 7am shifts).

PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Lead Computer Operator is under direction of the Shift Supervisor. The Lead Operator is responsible for the daily computer systems operations, as well as timely and accurate processing of information through the computer systems. This involves the monitoring of all the computer systems for problems, running programs on-line, submitting jobs for batch control of job output.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
*Controls job processing on the computer systems, both on-line and batch.
*Monitors and insures that all systems tasks are operating normally.
*Manages and maintains CPUâ??s and peripheral devices used in the enterprise data center.
*Insures strict adherence to all Information Technology and Distributed Systems Operations policies and procedures.
*Takes general direction and follows tasks through to a timely and accurate completion with little or no supervision.
*Delegates certain tasks to the appropriate operations staff, as well as making sure these are performed on a timely basis.
*Determines and implements appropriate course of action in problem situations including both hardware and/or software problems.
*Document all Production, Quality, and Education problems per the procedures that are in place.
*Provides supervision to data center staff in the absence of a Senior Operator and Shift Supervisor.
*Strives to learn the job functions of the Senior Operators, Support Specialists and Shift Supervisor as well as peer level positions with whom the individual interacts. It is the responsibility of the individual to be prepared for temporary re-assignment and/or promotion due to extended illness, personal emergency or business necessity.
*Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during period of personnel illness, vacation or education.
*Know how to respond to, and have an understanding of the emergency panels located in the Control Center.
*Have a basic understanding of the electrical layout for the Technology Center

QUALIFICATIONS
*High school diploma or GED
*1 year experience with enterprise hardware

*BS or BA degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
*6 - 8 years Information Technology experience in the enterprise hardware environment
*Good verbal and written communication skillsdf-tc
