Project: Develop Cross-Systems, Enterprise Products and Enhance very complicated existing applications.
VISION: Continue to work on their CORE business & also, create the next generation products & platforms!
The Position(s):
Our client is looking for two Lead Engineers for two different groups.
Theyre looking for two good people & feel the individuals they interview may be a good fit for either so they dont want to split up the job descriptions too much.
In either group, you will be a part of the core development team and will report to one of the two Development Managers.

Key Responsibilities

Utilizing your analytical and development skills, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks & hands on development.
In this role you will be working heavily with their current systems & also, doing prototyping for new development and taking their current products from Java/C/C++ to Enterprise Applications (J2EE).
This will include product maintenance and feature enhancement on VERY complex applications where you will be overseeing the development of products that add value & impact to their current clients.
Technology is based on Linux, UNIX with Oracle DB.
The company handles HUGE amounts of data so it would be very beneficial if the lead has had experience developing applications ranging from front end, middleware l& some back end development.

J2EE is used for their New System Development & their Compliance Systems.
You also will get to use a VARIETY of different tools (40-50) for other parts of the development project and for data & information extraction.

You will not be responsible for reviews of the people on your team but rather, will be more of a mentor and hands on project manager.
DEFINITELY need to be someone who has been doing full life cycle development in the recent past.
Details:

Working with project managers on scope, sizing, and status of tasks to ensure timely delivery of all software products and/or enhancements

Take a lead role in the design and implementation of a major new initiative, or the redevelopment of an existing product.

Being the technical leader of teams of up to 10 contributors between the departments & as the company grows

Actively participating in new product development including designing, documenting, code development, and unit testing of releases
Maintaining current product releases through service pack development.
Working with the QA team on test plan verification and defect resolution
Completing current product builds and assist in the successful handoff to the QA Team
Troubleshooting new platform & technology and related utilities

Job requirements:
Heavy experience developing enterprise software products on both Windows and Linux platforms
Solid experience with C/C++ and Java/J2EE
Sr. Development with leadership responsibilities or, LEAD experience (Hands on.)
Experience with enterprise database products (Oracle).
Ability to work in a team or with multiple organizational departments in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, with a preference is given to candidates with experience in start-up or emerging companies.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related scientific field preferred.
