Robert Half Technology is seeking a Lead VB.NET Developer to manage technical projects and be a hands-on contributor for an Engineering Firm located in Hunt Valley.

Our client is looking for a Lead Developer to join their already established development team. After experiencing incredible growth over the past few years there is a need to add an individual who can serve in a multidimensional role. This individual will lead a staff of 4 developers, delegate project work, and be the technical authority of the development team. This position reports into the Director of Application Development. Experience/Skills


Candidates must meet the requirements below to be considered for position.

  • 5+ years of development experience in VB.Net with MSSQL 2000/2005 database and Windows 2000/2003 Server.
  • 4+ years experience in Microsoft .Net Technologies and Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • 5+ years experience in complex web projects in a corporate environment on a customer-facing Web site.
  • Develop detailed object models and designs based on functional requirements.
  • Apply object-oriented, component-based, and service-oriented design concepts and design patterns.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in methods, tools, and products designated for use in programming and testing activities.
  • Design, program, test, debug, document, and implement complex software applications

  • Modify existing computer programs to incorporate changes based on new user requirements.
  • Develop and execute a full battery of tests including unit tests, code coverage and static code analysis.
  • Work with team members to cross-train on applications and company policies & procedures.
  • Prepare programming and end-user documentation and user manuals according to standards.
  • Make recommendations to immediate supervisor on appropriate additions to or replacement of current solutions and technologies.
  • Provide input into detailed project planning.
  • Utilize a problem management tool to track open tickets and follow up to resolution and closure.
