We are seeking a Lead Enterprise Architect for a 4-month contract-to-hire position in Germantown, MD. Position Summary: - The Lead Enterprise Architect position will design and mature architectures on an enterprise level for our federal client. - The ideal candidate must have experience in defining a technology architecture strategy and process that helps align IT projects with business; designing enterprise application integration solutions; designing and implementing a security architecture; knowledge of NIST 800-53 security controls; developing and implementing enterprise architecture (EA) governance; developing and implementing data architecture; data referencing modeling; and understand EA elements at both the OCIO and Program levels, including segment architecture methodology, business and technical processes, and program management. - The Lead Enterprise Architect will support and provide overall guidance in the areas of: defining and implementing an enterprise architecture program; implementing application portfolio management processes; defining and implementing an IT strategy; creating information and business process models; and defining an enterprise architecture blueprint and roadmap. - Occasional travel between client sites may be required. Experience: - Ten (10) or more years of experience in enterprise architecture and related activities. - Position requires a general understanding of government agencies and a strong understanding of and experience with EA frameworks, budgeting/accounting/funding processes, business process reengineering (BPR), technical writing (experience in documenting functional and data processes), enterprise architecture, e-Business, IT management, excellent client relations, and excellent oral/written communication skills. - Candidate should be familiar with the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework, the Clinger-Cohen Act, and OMB-130 requirements for Enterprise Architecture. - Experience with EA-related software tools (ie, TROUX) is a plus. - As an onsite representative of the company, you must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with the client. - US Citizenship is a requirement for this position. - Candidate may be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. - Security clearances are a plus. Education: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
