One of our Clients, Fortune 500 Insurance Company, located in Erie, PA has an immediate, direct hire opportunity for an experienced Lead Infrastructure Engineer.

In this challenging position you'll create an IT operational architecture that aligns with Client's strategy and transition to an agile organization. You'll be the team lead of infrastructure engineers that define blueprints, standards and guidelines for the proper use and deployment of technology and be responsible for overseeing infrastructure implementations. You'll also apply expert technical analysis, design and implementation skills to ensure that Client's architecture meets the needs of the company's business strategy, including defining the infrastructure technical roadmaps three to five years out.

Client's infrastructure environment is leading edge, heavily virtualized, and continuously looking to leap forward. Client's computing environment consists of mainframe, Solaris, UNIX, Linux, and Windows server platforms, as well as Middleware platforms. We are looking for a Lead Infrastructure Architect/Engineer who is a visionary, but can be fully accountable for oversight of infrastructure implementations. The successful candidate will have a depth of experience in the areas mentioned above.

Key responsibilities for this leadership position include leading the technical infrastructure engineering and roadmap planning for IT operations, supervising the building of infrastructure, and leading and coordinating the activities of other infrastructure engineers. You will coordinate your efforts with the Enterprise Architecture function, as well as application architects. You'll also manage the integration of infrastructure architecture blueprints for business, applications, data, technology, and infrastructure architectures and provide guidance and counsel to project teams and leadership/skills transfer across IT

Requirements:

BS/BA in Computer Science or related. Master's degree preferred.
Eight years experience in IT leadership and architecture and/or engineering (middleware and/or infrastructure) required, including previous experience as lead engineer or architect on multiple large-scale product or enterprise designs.
Expertise in one or more infrastructure technology platforms
Experience in software, database platforms, and Middleware platforms. Certifications preferred.
Knowledge of frameworks and design patterns relating to SOA, WOA, REST, data warehouse, and Web transactional systems.
In-depth understanding of infrastructure engineering life cycle processes, tools, utilities and methodologies and an understanding of software vendors and platforms in one or more domains.
Excellent relationship management and managerial leadership skills are important to success.
Previous experience as an enterprise infrastructure architect and/or previous experience in the insurance industry are preferred.
