Lead Internet Developer

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire OR Full Time Employment (FTE) Position

Job Description/Responsibilities:
Lead a small team of Java Web developers, providing guidance, technical expertise and training.
Actively participate in the design and development of new templates and future functionality, ensuring appropriate base knowledge for updates and maintenance. Establish development best practices.
Work with the Director of Internet Technology, the directors of Hottopic.com and Torrid.com and the Manager of Web Production to design, build and launch site updates and enhancements.
Work with Project Managers, Analysts and Business Owners of other departments to gain understanding and design Web site functionality and improvements to business processes.
Investigate new technologies and methods to bring best-of-breed functionality to the Hot Topic family of Web sites.

Top Skills:
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Web technology knowledge in Java/J2EE, JSP, HTML and JavaScript. Active Server Pages (ASP), PHP and Web services experience helpful, but not required.
Server Software knowledge in WebSphere, Apache, Windows 2000, Unix (AIX or other), Linux and other Java application servers.
Experience with common Java IDEs (Eclipse preferred), source code control (CVS or Subversion) and build/deployment tools (Ant preferred).

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required, preferably in Computer Science.
Previous leadership experience in a technical environment.
