Lead Java Architect

Job Description


Define system and application architectures. Define systems that facilitate abstractions, ease of use, maintainability, extensibility. Articulate the architecture and technical vision to Java Developers on the team. Get buy-in from team members to build system to conform to architecture. Enforce code reviews and minimum levels of quality of code within the system.

Must be experienced in OOA/D with strict adherence to process to support iterative development. Must be proficient in the use of design patterns, distributed applications, messaging, and partitioning.

As a Consultant you will be required to have constant interaction with our clients, and therefore excellent oral and written skills are a must.

Job Requirements

• Senior level ability in J2EE/Java with at least 5+ years experience. Experience in other OO languages such as C++ or Smalltalk is a plus.
  
• Proficiency in XML/XSL, RDBMS, required.
  
• Experience in at least 2, preferably more, large software projects (8 people or more).
  
• Excellent problem solving skills.
  
• Experienced in the use of Rational Rose or TogetherJ/Together Control Panel for applied use case modeling, object modeling, and code generation.
  
• Rational Unified Process (RUP) or another object oriented methodologyto support an iterative process.
  
• Experience with application servers, such as Weblogic, iPlanet, Websphere.
  
• Appreciation for solid configuration management process and tools.
  
• Proficient in the application of UML to real world problems.
  
• Proactive in communicating technical vision to team.
  
• Excellent problem solving skills.
