Calling all Gadget Geeks. Do you want to be part of the future of Microsoft? Mobile Communications Product Group (MCPG) building Windows Mobile is powering the mobile phone platform for the future. The Board Support Package (BSP) & Drivers team is responsible for the software driver models used to turn on the silicon of the future. A BSP is the collection of software drivers, cpu support and bootloader which enables a hardware platform to work with Windows Mobile.

To enable the broadest set of chipsets in the market, we're aggressively pursuing all the top Silicon makers to build BSPs for their phone focused chips. Our handset makers then create cool new devices using this software. We're also engaged with industry SIGs like USB-IF and SDA to make sure we're always on the cutting edge of new technologies with our driver support.

We're looking for a driver knowledgeable and customer-focused Program Manager to Lead the PM group, preferably with some hardware-centric background. This lead position has several direct reports. The PMs in your team are responsible for delivering the right set of drivers and BSPs for Windows Mobile. The Lead is responsible for setting the strategy and making sure the team executes on that strategy. As such, a candidate will be expected to weigh the multitude of inputs that influence this space and produce the right value statements that guide the team. You will Lead the team to follow disciplined software development practices in creation of these platforms in partnership with Silicon Vendors. The position involves close coordination with business contacts and executives at SVs and our internal product planning team to align objectives and roadmaps. It involves coordination with our own division executives to align with their goals for Windows Mobile in the marketplace.

A successful candidate is expected to provide leadership in identifying customer scenarios, driving technical teams, defining and executing efficient processes, and managing cross-group collaboration with many internal/external teams. Ideal candidates will have:

Known as a drive for results individual with a strong internal compass
Good knowledge & passion towards hardware technologies
Strong organizational and project-management skills
Excellent verbal & written communication and negotiation skills
2+ years of program management experience in delivering or managing projects that meet customer requirements
1+ years of people management experience
BA/BS in CS or EE or related technical discipline
Bonus: Functional knowledge on Windows CE or deep experience in the cellular phone industry delivering productsdf-tc
