The Emmy Award-winning Xbox LIVE Service continues to grow at an unprecedented rate, and the LIVE organization is growing along with it. Over the coming year, LIVE will once again push the boundaries of online gaming innovation, and we are looking for a Lead Release Manager to help us build a world-class project management team to support LIVE innovation.

The Xbox Project & Release Management (XPRM) team provides the structure that supports all Xbox LIVE engineering efforts. XPRM release managers guide both LIVE Services updates and upgrades to Xbox 360 console software. The team supports project management process changes and training efforts across Xbox, and it runs the ship rooms for Xbox software and services. In addition, the team drives the definition of release criteria across the organization and ensures the timely delivery of software according to those criteria.

To help us scale our releases to meet our growing business, we are seeking a Lead Release Manager with extensive experience in managing complex client/service deployments. This person will be responsible for setting up release schedules and running multiple releases concurrently. The candidate will work with all the engineering triage teams to ensure that the releases are being completed on schedule and with the appropriate attention to priorities. Additional responsibilities may include developing 18-month forward-looking engineering plans in coordination with architecture and PM organizations. The ideal candidate will have outstanding partner communication skills and demonstrated experience in creating and driving complex integration schedules. He or she will also be responsible for a team of project and release managers who assist in managing test environments, production environment deployments, and interim software drops to partners.

Skills:
5+ years of release and project management experience
Experience with MS Project, Visio, and other project planning and tracking tools
A history working with agile/scrum software projects
3-5 years of people management experience
Experience with service-based software releasesdf-tc
