Genesis10 in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Lead Project Manager for Testing Environments Strategy.
This is a 7 month contract position with a scheduled start date of 8/26/04.

**Note...This is a W-2 position; no 3rd parties. US Citizens/Green Card Holders only.

Position will manage a project to define and implement a unified testing environments. This will involve establishing processes for requesting access, managing, tracking and reporting shared testing environments (integrated into the Comprehensive Delivery Process), identifying cost-effective means to create the shared infrastructure (purchase, consolidation, etc), identifying appropriate locations for the environments and recommending the appropriate organizational support for the managing and supporting the environments.
These complimentary efforts will require creative problem solving and analysis to create a cost effective, comprehensive, holistic environments strategy that can act as a model for the enterprise.
The project will include staff representing areas across the corporation including (at a minimum) NOPS, ASM, CTO/EA and the BAP.
These subject matter experts will provide guidance, advice and support to ensure the strategy and execution occur with minimal disruption to existing projects, processes and organization structures.

Responsibilities:
Establish project support processes - integrated into the Comprehensive Delivery Process and enterprise service support tools for:
Establishing project requirements for testing environments (including consideration of testing data needs)including functional, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing.
Creating, managing, tracking and reporting on project request, access, and assignment to testing environments (through Remedy).
Implementing a scheduling process for assigning projects to infrastructure and managing releases (code and infrastructure), set-up and break-down.

Project management:
Deliver on project milestones. Prepare, manage, and track to project schedules.
Report on project status and budget to management.
Resolve or escalate issues.
Identify and evaluate overlapping, complimentary and dependent efforts for possible consolidation while managing to scope.
Establish the initial scope (e.g. critical projects, Platform), which will provide our client and their business partners the highest value add in the shortest time period.
Work with corporate finance to determine an activity-based strategy for projects to use when budgeting for access to the shared environments.
Coordinate with a complimentary project to establish a non-production data strategy.df-tc


Experience/Skills
Demonstrated successful project management experience on large projects (over $1 million) and proven ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
Extensive experience (8+ years) in Operations Management and infrastructure support.
Thorough understanding of development lifecycles, configuration management, and release strategy.
Multi-platform background (Mainframe, mid-tier, desktop).
Familiarity with cost / benefit analysis for applications, business processes, and infrastructure.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Skills in negotiation, team building, and prioritization.
Ability to drive aggressive time lines. Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Advanced user of Microsoft office suite and Microsoft project.
Familiarity with Remedy a plus.
PMI Certification a plus.
