Overview:
This role will be responsible for the successful delivery of medium- to large-scale projects by ensuring the proper execution of the activities and tasks as indicated by the EAD project management methodology.

The Lead Project Manager is directly accountable for the successful delivery of projects by harnessing subject matter expertise to lead and execute the processes necessary to achieve project team results. The incumbent is responsible for delivering all assigned initiatives with quality on schedule and within budget. The successful delivery of projects directly impacts the overall effectiveness of the Company management systems.

The Lead Project Manager understands departmental strategy, processes, and infrastructure related to organizational and Company objectives. S/he spends time with customers/internal business partners to better understand their business processes, objectives, and requirements. S/he interprets and applies Company rules, regulations and policies. The Lead Project Manager understands Company strategy related to our marketplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides overall leadership of the project team on a given project by giving direction, guidance, and oversight to team members to ensure successful completion of assigned performance objectives within established time and budget constraints.
2. Acts as front-line contact with the business unit account manager and/or project sponsor(s) on project related issues, responding to concerns with clear and concise feedback.
3. Contributes in the determination of project scope, resource requirements, skill requirements, project milestones, budgets, and risks per PMO standard methods and practices.
4. Works with the appropriate business unit leadership to ensure that all project objectives are being achieved.
5. Monitors and documents project status; anticipates problems and resolves or escalates them to the appropriate level of management for resolution in order to ensure proper project completion within schedule and budget constraints.
6. Identifies and removes barriers that may impede successful completion of an assigned project.
7. Manages communications amongst team members, business unit account manager, project sponsor(s), the PMO, and other stakeholders in a clear, concise and consistent manner.
8. Coordinates project closeout including project post-mortem and transfer of ownership activities for project deliverables upon formal acceptance by project sponsor.
9. Assists in the formation and disbandment of project team.
10. Assist in the development of project management best practices, methodologies, techniques, and tools, including but not limited to project planning, execution, milestone/deliverable tracking, communications, and key performance metrics.
11. Applies and supports adherence to project management best practices, methodologies, techniques, and tools throughout IT organization and communicates process to business community.
12. Mentor others on project management best practices, techniques, and tools, including but not limited to project planning, execution, milestone/deliverable tracking, communications, and key performance metrics.

Requirements:
1. BS Degree in Business or IS preferred or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum five years experience with project management concepts and practices.
3. Six-eight years experience leading Application Development and rollout-type projects.
4. Completion of a formal, industry-recognized Project Management Training Curriculum (PMP credential, ESI, Systemation, university certificate program completion or PM advanced degree).
5. Proven track record in developing detailed plans for complex projects involving challenging requirements, limited resources, and fixed deadlines.
6. Significant practical experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, utilizing appropriate processes and tools and delivering results, while controlling budget spend/utilization.
