Description

Our client located in Jacksonville, Florida has an immediate contract to hire opportunity for a Lead Senior Development DBA.

Support the over all development, implementation and use of database infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Trace SQL development projects and reports status to management.
2. Participate in requirement gathering phase for DTS/SSIS, import/export projects or task.
3. Work with development DBA to formulate solution to a development project or task.
4. Schedule meetings to discuss solution architecture with management for approval.
5. Monitor development DBA work time and report to management.
6. Design and manage database import/export processes used to populate test databases and global data marts.
7. Mentor development DBA to develop and maintain of DTS and SSIS packages.
8. Mentor development staff with the debugging and optimization of SQL queries and stored procedures.
9. Participate in ongoing database performance tuning and upgrades, including: monitoring and evaluation of all database patches and service packs.
10. Mentor in Transact SQL and stored procedure development.
11. Database modelling and design functions.
12. Create and maintain database ERD diagrams.
13. Research problems and recommend corrective actions.
14. Assist OLAP and Datawarehouse environment when assigned.
15. Enforce DBA Standards
16. Other duties as assigned.
17. Mentoring DBA and Junior DBAs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. BSCS or MS degree in computer science or related field, 10 or more years of relevant industry experience.
2. 5 or more years of database development/design experience with RDBMS.
3. 3-5 years experience with MS SQL Server 7.0, MS SQL Server 2000, MS SQL Server 2005.
4. Experience with additional RDBMS (prefer experience with Sybase).
5. Experience with MS SQL Server backup and recovery techniques in a VLDB environment.
6. Exposure to VLDB environment.
7. Proven experience using Transact SQL, Stored Procedure and UDF.
8. Experience with MS SQL Server DTS and SSIS.
9. Familiarity with SQL Server replication services. Familiarity with SQL Server clustered environment.
10. Prefer experience designing and implementing data warehouses, including experience with MS SQL OLAP services. 11. Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
12. Demonstrated experience in tuning database and its objects. Understanding of databases indexes.
13. Understanding of database design practices, including database normalization concepts.
14. Prefer background in Microsoft networking.
15. Proven ability to work with in a team environment.
16. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
