Summary:
The Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for the implementation and management of the development, quality assurance, production, corporate, and LAN environments. The position provides technical leadership to systems engineers, system administrators, other teams, and assists as advanced support for Operations and end-users. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the required technical skills and their ability to fulfill the position?s responsibilities. This position must be able to function in a strong team environment.

Duties & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
? Establishment of system, access and account policies. Ensure that these policies are effective and followed resulting in 99.5% availability.
? Participating in the development of a Windows infrastructure. Includes support of Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS), Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), authentication protocols, e-mail infrastructure, backup and anti-virus solutions.
? Review backup and restore procedures on a constant basis for 100% coverage of required files
? Conduct a network disaster recovery test on a segment chosen by the Security Director as directed with 100% success
? Designing, creating and maintaining active directory domains and commerce servers.
? Developing and maintaining group policies and automated software installations for server and workstation applications
? Managing, maintaining, and performing capacity planning for Storage Area Network systems.
? Training operations staff in the use and day-to-day management of network systems.
? Ensuring support and maintenance contracts for hardware and software licenses are current.
? Understanding and working with change management, fault management procedures.
? Participating in 24x7 support and on-call rotation.
? Working with network engineers, operations and developers to ensure that their requirements are being met, and to propose enhancements and new services where possible.
? Performing capacity planning analysis on hardware and storage systems.
? Providing and maintaining detailed documentation of all implementations, changes, and solutions.
? Develop framework and policies for file storage requirements and permissions, server accesses resulting in 99.5% availability.
? Support Remote access system
? Implement hardware and software upgrades to support the corporate mission
? Research and investigate new technologies and plan for the integration of same into the current corporate environment
? Continuing education and certifications

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises systems engineers and systems administrators
Assists management in staff evaluation and training plans for infrastructure staff

Qualifications:
? Strong design and implementation experience with Windows infrastructure, Active Directory, DNS/WINS, DHCP, DNS, authentifation and security protocols
? Strong experience w/DNS and other supporting technologies, and their integration with Windows infrastructure
? Experience in Windows infrastructure, Linux, Unix, BackOffice Security, OS and applications hardening.
? Active Directory design experience
? Experience with SAN technology (certification a bonus)
? Experience with enterprise backup
? Strong Troubleshooting skills
? Very strong scripting skills (VBScript, JavaScript, Perl, ADSI, WSH, and others)

Experience, Education, Certifications:
Experience:
? Minimum 6 years experience design and management of mission-critical LAN, WAN, and Remote Access systems.
? Minimum 2 years experience in a lead or supervisory systems engineering / administrative position
Education:
? Bachelor?s degree in computer science, MIS or related experience
Certifications:
? MCSE required in Windows Domain (Specialization of Security desirable)
? CISSP and/or GIAC certifications desired
? Linux certification desirable
