Description
Genesis10 is seeking an experienced Lead Test Automation Engineering position for a 6-12 month consulting assignment in Folsom, CA.

Skills:
6-8 years of experience in software test automation, which must include at least 2 years of experience at QA.

Position Description:
Responsible for leading a test automation group responsible for design, development and deployment of automated test scripts using Mercury’s Quick Test Pro, Load Runner and Win Runner testing tools, and UNIX shell scripting. Also responsible for developing system and integration test plans, writing test reports and tracking bugs. Utilize Rational and Mercury tools to provide traceability between software requirements, test scenarios, test cases, variances, and enhancements. of J2EE Enterprise Application deployed in a JBoss Application Server.

Specific Duties:
• Manage 1-3 test automation engineers
• Work with software development, operations and other quality engineers to develop test plans that coordinate data and scenarios across multiple application boundaries
• Drive automation of the web based and rich client applications
• Drive automation of SOA web services used to integrate disparate applications
• Design, develop and deploy test scripts using Mercury’s Quick Test Pro, Load Runner and Win Runner testing tools, and UNIX shell scripts
• Integrate Rational requirements and variance tracking tools with Mercury test automation tools.
• Develop detailed test plans based on software requirements and technical design specifications
• Define, track and report quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and find/fix ratios
• Develop final test report for each product to document the quality issues found during the testing process so that fixes can be tracked
• Perform hands-on testing using Automated Tools
• Perform analysis of J2EE based Applications in a JBoss Application Server.
• Perform performance measurements of SOAP/XML based messages in a SOA (JMS/Vitria) environment

Experience/Skills
Position Requirements:
• In-depth understanding of SOAP/XML HTTP Protocol
• Experience creating dynamic XML messages using Database mapping techniques
• Experience creating XML Check Points with Mercury Tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• 6-8 years of experience in software test automation, which must include at least 2 years of experience at a QA Lead/Manager and at least 3 years of working with test automation of web based software
• Prior test automation experience and demonstrated proficiency with Mercury’s Quick Test Pro, Load Runner and Win Runner testing tools
• A strong knowledge of and experience with software development and testing processes and procedures
• Fluent in use of programming languages (C, C++, JAVA, Visual Basic) and scripting languages
• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and web service technologies
• Experience in software performance analysis
• Superior verbal and written technical communications skills
• Strong research and documentation skills
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to manage multiple test projects concurrently
• Knowledge of both Windows and Unix environment
• Solid understanding of UNIX tools to include VI, PS, SAR, AWK and SED.
