Job Summary:

Reporting to the Quality Test Manager, will work with product development and project teams to assist in the creation and execution of test solutions for product releases. Will be responsible for creating test specifications based on product and customer requirements and to be able to carry out manual and automated test execution, liaising with the development group to ensure that product issues are captured and successfully resolved.

Essential Functions:

*Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program/product requirements.

*Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.

*Document and communicate results of technical data generated.

*Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.

*Share information and promote open dialogue.

Main Tasks:

*Undertake test coverage analysis and test design to generate detailed test specifications from requirements specifications.

*Develop tests (both manual and automated) from detailed test designs complying with coding guidelines and test architecture.

*Perform analysis of test failures from test execution to appropriate level of detail for defect submission.

*Assist in prioritization of reported defects and work with development to facilitate timely closure.

*Verify resolution of defects.
Qualifications

*Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering.

*Minimum of 5+ years of software related experience.

*Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

*If currently a GE employee, must have been in current position for at least 12 months and have at least a satisfactory performance rating.

*Experience of VB/VBScript, shell-scripting in Unix.

*Database/SQL/Oracle knowledge and experience of Windows/Unix/Linux.

*Experience of testing client server and GUI applications.

*Familiar with methods and techniques of structured reviews.

*Experience of working in an environment with strict quality procedures.

*Effective oral expression and written expression, easy contact, adaptable, can foster team spirit.

*Excellent planning and organizational skills.

*Six - Sigma Green belt accreditation (GE employees only).
