Government Contractor Seeks Lead Investigator
Mandatory Job Requirements:
• TS/SCI
• BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related filed
• An advanced degree in the area of Information Technology desirableTechnical Skills:
A lead consultant that can provide expert level UNIX systems management support. Specific flavors of Unix include Tru64, Solaris and Red Hat Linux
Provide in-depth analysis and resolution of complex system problems;
Provide recommendations for enhancements and corrections to systems support procedures for efficiency gains
Establish standardized systems administration processes and quality assurance
Securing systems
Document all changes, including temporary fixes to existing systems and ancillary programs;
Unix shell scripting
Account management - File access permissions; Add/remove users; sudo user and script management; crontab/script management;
Implement user requirements using customized solutions and scripts;
Application deployments in a large enterpriseManage upgrades which includes preparing a list of currently installed software products and versions and preparing a list of currently available product versions
Support upgrade planning and implementation support
Provide coordination of system upgrades with staff and contractors for concurrent application upgrades as needed.
Experience with SUN Enterprise class servers.
Experience with the administration of clustered environments.
Preferably Red Hat Linux and Sun Enterprise Clusters
Experience with virtualization and the administration of virtualized environments
Experience with different backup & recovery technologies
Experience with SAN technologies
Ability to work after-hours as required for upgrades etc. and participate in on-call rotations
Additional Skills:
• Ability to guide and lead a team of engineers
• Project management
• Ability to work independently and research/resolve technical issues and solutions
• Prior hands-on experience implementing technical solutions to include: Identifying root causes, Research/investigating potential solutions, Testing solutions, Documenting recommended solutions, Implementing solutions
• Skilled at performing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to analyze technical problems and develop workable solutions
• Good communications skills, both verbal and written
• Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of individuals and personalities
