Description
Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining servers (Unix (IBM AIX, FreeBSD), Linux(Red Hat)). This support includes the support Unix based mail system, Linux/Apache technologies. The position will fill multiple rolls included Ticket Resolution and Troubleshooting, On-Call Support, Project Lead and technology planning. This positions primary objective will be to ensure that we follow IT procedures and policies and meet all applicable Service Level Agreements with our customers.The position will interact with a geographically disperse support organization and will be responsible to provide remote support for servers and applications.Common technologies that will be necessary to support include IBM AIX, Linux, Windows 2000 and 2003, HACMP, .NET, IIS, Apache, Tomcat, Netscape Iplanet and Citrix.

Requirements:

Requires thorough demonstrated knowledge of most server commands and utilities such as job scheduling, backups and system utilization statistics.Must have demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of systems administration, such as:system installation and configuration,user account and user group management,printing subsystems,fundamentals of security,installing third party software,license managersand configuration of mail systems.Needs demonstrated knowledge of one or more server-based operating systems, understands paging and swapping, interprocess communication, devices and device drivers and filesystem concepts (fsck, hard and soft links, inode, superblock, etc.). LVMMust have demonstrated knowledge of fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure NFS, an automounter, NIS and DNS, thorough understanding of routing concepts and the TCP/IP protocol.Needs a solid understanding of network file synchonization schemes (rdist). Ability to write complex scripts in administrative languages (e.g., bourne shell, Perl ). Ability to do debugiing and compiling and occasionally modifying complex C programs.Minimum of 5-7 years of direct Unix administration experience.
