Description:
The Learning Solutions Group is seeking a passionate, articulate, and overall exceptional Instructional Designer to join our team of learning consultants. This position is based in Atlanta, GA and will support learning and development initiatives within the ACS Government Healthcare Solution Center Operations. The position is initially dedicated to a New Hampshire project and up to 20% travel is required.

The Instructional Designer is responsible for the full instructional design cycle from analysis through evaluation. This individual will develop and implement performance-based, blended learning curricula and supporting materials (e.g., learner guides, facilitator guides, simulations, job aids, evaluation tools, etc.) using Instructional Systems Design methodology.

Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
  • Establish instructional design standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, internal and external customers to analyze needs, make effective recommendations, develop and implement performance improvement solutions
  • Conduct needs analysis to successfully identify the reasons for performance gaps
  • Design courses using a standard design document to map out training content, objectives, timing, and appropriate training mediums
  • Develop instructor-led training, CBT/WBT, and other self-paced learning for end users
  • Devise training implementation plans
  • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions
  • Develop, test and evaluate learning strategies
  • Select evaluation tools and conduct learning evaluations
  • Meet established deadlines during all stages of projects from start to finish
  • Provide feedback and coaching to other instructional designers on instructional design methodology

    Qualifications and Experience:
  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of adult learning principles
  • Proven track record of developing sound instructional materials for both technical and soft skills training
  • 3+ years experience working directly as an Instructional Designer
  • Ability to continuously adapt to an evolving work environment
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience


  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Captivate, FLASH, Formatting Solutions Pro, PhotoShop, Snag It, Adobe Acrobat, familiarity with a LMS
  • Experience using the ADDIE model and Information Mapping approach to writing
  • Healthcare experience
