Experience/Skills
1. Minimum 1-2 years professional work experience in Information Technology desktop / laptop / printers in a networked (Novell & Microsoft Active Directory) environment.
2. Previous experience in break fix of computer Hardware / Software Service Desk setting with a large base of user support.
3. Hardware and software troubleshooting experience on desktop / laptops is required.
4. Experience running systems diagnostics and interpretation of diagnostic information for desktops, laptops and their peripherals (laser and DeskJet printers).
5. Experience with installing any applicable products or upgrade for Windows operating systems and Windows based applications and peripherals. Currently an XP environment at the end user level with a mix of 2000 and 98 still in transition to XP.
6. Experience with Dell desktops and laptops preferred.
7. A+ certification is mandatory. Dell certification is preferred (if candidate does not have certification, training and testing will be provided. Continued employment will be contingent upon Dell Certification and must be completed within a 90 day window.) HP printer certification is desired.
8. Experience with Help Desk management system use for tracking of end user problems and resolutions (client currently using Clarify and will be migrating to Altiris).
9. Additional experience with remote controlling PC's over a network is strongly preferred.
10. Excellent verbal and written communications essentials. Candidates need to be able to talk intelligibly, be approachable and not shy.
