Due to our growth and success, M&T Bank has created a new opportunity to provide guidance and direction to our sales organization for Treasury Management, Merchant Services and Commercial Card sales.  Managing a team of more than 60 Territory Managers and (Senior) Regional Sales Managers throughout our footprint, this person will help us to continue to exceed our sales goals and provide strategic leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Regional Sales Managers in the ongoing development of new business. Mobilize individuals inside and outside the team to accomplish objectives. Individual will lead the team in support of sales management and the management of all direct reports such that goals for Commercial areas, Business Banking and the Branches are met or exceeded.

Develop strong partnerships across business and functional lines including Regional Presidents, Line Partners, Segment Heads, support personnel as well as Product Management, Service and in some cases Technology.

Coordinate goal setting and the budget process related to the sales team annually.
Perform administrative duties including, fee waivers, pricing, proposal review, T&E, goal establishment and incentive pay coordination and approval.

Exercise managerial authority including recruiting, developing talent, staffing, salary recommendations, performance appraisals, hiring and termination.

Assist in the coordination of department projects, including annual sales conference, new product development committees, and merger activities.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of successful experience managing a sales force of 25+ in the sale of products or services sold to a broad array of businesses in a broad geographic region.

Bachelor's degree level of eduction or higher.

Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Results-oriented team player who can build strong, effective relationships throughout the organization.

Able to manage 30% travel throughout the footprint.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Treasury Management knowledge and experience.

MBA

Experience managing multiple levels of Sales Managers.
