Description
Position OverviewThe Systems Admin is to ensure the stable operation of the software systems and network connections in a Linux server environment. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all servers in a data center environment, network software and communication links. The person may be called on to analyze and resolve client software program and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. Included in the responsibilities are: Responsibilities:* System performance tuning, monitoring and maintenance* Applying operating system updates, and configuration changes* Installing and configuring new hardware/software* Adding/deleting/modifying user account information, resetting passwords, etc.* Responsibility for security* Responsibility for documenting the configuration of the system* Troubleshooting any reported problems * Performing backups Job Requirements:* Must have: Strong Linux System Administration (3-5 years). Experience with Apache, MySQL, Red Hat, BigBrother/Hobbit* Must have: Strong Cisco Administration including Pix (Certifications from Cisco are a +)* 5-7+ years of Systems Administration experience supporting an Internet-based business model such as an Application Service Provider, high-traffic media site or eCommerce site.* Teamwork, flexibility and "get it done" attitude* BS in Computer Science or related field* Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification is a plus* Linux certification from a vendor-neutral program such as CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association), LPI (Linux Professional Institute) is a plus Apply directly at: ?jobref=934038&referer=gaddf-tc
