Description
We have a position available for an enthusiastic individual that is highly technical and will directly support all the IT desktop needs of a remote workers, but also mentor future IT desktop employees. In addition, you will provide training and technical support as needed for our internal customer.
There will be ample opportunity to develop your skills and to take initiative. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the latest technologies in a call center environment and grow your skills in several areas.
You will be working with a wide range of PC hardware technologies and you should be familiar with at least the basics of TCP/IP, CPU/memory technologies, CD Drives, Network Interface Cards (NICs), home and corporate network activities and getting all hardware to work properly on Linux will be a frequent activity.

Qualifications and Desired Skills
o Provide direct support for desktops/laptops in a Linux (Knoppix) environment and user access to corporate network and applications both on the network as well as through remote VPN access.
o Provide direct support for services such as digital (PSTN-based) and VoIP softphones
o Provide direct support for a Local network environment based on Linux (Knoppix) desktops.
o Provide direct support for a Citrix based application environment
o Effectively communicate and collaborate with different team members globally and help develop a strong team environment without jeopardizing delivery of the systems
o Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written.

Experience and Education:
o BS Degree or equivalent experience.
o Extensive experience in troubleshooting Linux desktops/laptops across a wide variety of issues
o Must have the ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited information.
o Experience supporting remote users with possible limited access to the desktop
o Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

Technical Skills:

o Strong Linux (Knoppix) skill base
o Thorough understanding of LAN/WAN environments, TCP/IP, LDAP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, MTAs, Active Directory, etc.
o Experience with applications Linux (Knoppix) networked environment.
o Excellent knowledge of PC hardware and problem-solving skills.df-tc
