Description
Prestigious Trading Firm located in Chicagos Loop is currently seeking a Linux Engineer. Candidates must have several years of Linux as well as experience working in the trading industry.
Responsibilities
Linux/Solaris installation, administration, and tuning
NIS and NFS setup and maintenance
Disaster recovery operations and architecture for *nix environments
Third party and internal trading system support
Work with developers and traders to improve *nix operations
Runbook creation and ongoing documentation

Experience/Skills
Qualifications:
4+ years Linux/Solaris installation, administration, and tuning
3+ years scripting in korn or bash shell scripting. Experience with Perl is desired, but not required
Exposure to relational databases
Experience supporting trading systems, third party and internally developed
Exposure to major trading exchanges
High availability system setup and architecture exposure (VCS or HP serviceguard)
Experience working with Linux in virtual environments. VMWARE HA with Linux experience a plus
SAN exposure
Background in networking and troubleshooting common problems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
