Description
The Linux Internet Systems Administrator (ISA), works independently to develop and maintain all Managed Hosting operational systems and is responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of internal LINUX servers and systems, which support over 600 customers.



Duties and Responsibilities:

Administration of core production server systems, information systems and technology infrastructure.
Maintaining operation stability; enforcing security measures, testing, developing and deploying new hardware, software, and related technologies
Making operation recommendations for both customer and internal corporate infrastructure
Providing user training, technical documentation and support as necessary
Managing new technologies and quickly resolving any problems involved in integrating them on our systems.
Key technical resource for senior staff; providing advice, training and technical support.
Work closely with customers to evaluate current systems and make recommendations on future development, capacity planning and disaster recovery.
Responsible for emergency response as needed to correct system failures by participating in an on-call rotation.
Perform other job-related duties as required.



Job Qualifications:
Related Experience
:
Extensive experience in LINUX/UNIX system administration




Experience with at least one version of Windows and at least one version of Mac OS;
Previous programming or scripting experience is beneficial;
Experience maintaining servers: DNS, NFS, DHCP, LDAP, mail (e.g. Postfix, Sendmail), and FTP service, preferred.

Understanding of SQL database servers such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
Knowledge / Skills / Ability:
Expert skill level with web technologies such as Apache, Cold Fusion and or PHP; working knowledge of: Shell, Perl and CGI scripting
Proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows XP, and or Mac OS X operating systems
Effective communication, organizational, time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks

Familiar with implementing high availability cluster technology
System-level security procedures and industry standards
Talent at diagnosing and remedying serious server related problems and failures promptly and effectively; familiarity with cryptography tools (e.g. secure shell, OpenSSL, IPSec)

Minimum 4 years Linux/Unix Server administration experience
Minimum 2 years Apache experience

BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or related field or have equivalent experience.

RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) desireddf-tc
