Description
The Network Deployment team is responsible for designing, building, and documenting one of the biggest and most advanced networks in the world, and we're looking for top-notch Network Deployment Engineers to help. We need team-oriented fast learners with excellent organization and troubleshooting skills. If you've spent time driving a NOC console or provisioning new network elements for an ISP or a large enterprise, this job is for you!

Responsibilities:

Produce rack elevations, site layouts, cable/port maps from higher-level network designs.
Turn up new WAN/LAN transport circuits (SONET, 10GE, etc.), and WDM links.
Diligently update network documentation.
Managing Unix/Linux based servers.
Experience in clustering and massive deployment administration.
In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (including Layers 2-7 content switching).
24/7 on call for emergency response, disaster recovery.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Network routing protocol (OSPF/BGP) knowledge.
Ensure 24x7 operations.
Monitor system stability and performance.

Requirements:

Must have Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
Advanced proficiency and a minimum of 2 years experience or strong project portfolio in enterprise/IT level network infrastructure and/or ISP network operations center/tier 1-2 support is required.
1-3 years (junior), 3+ years (senior) experience with hands-on, field-based installation/deployment of network gear in POPs, carrier hotels, data centers, Central Offices for service providers or large enterprise (NOC experience also considered), including:
-Onsite experience turning up transport circuits and cross-connects.
-Hands-on experience with DC-powered equipment, including DC power installation.
Strong knowledge of industry best practices for rack builds/rack & stack, and cable management/dressing, including fiber optic cable.
25-50% travel.
Solid knowledge of IP fundamentals including IP addressing and VLSM, VLANs, basic routing configuration.
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially
troubleshooting network connections using tools such as ping, traceroute, MTR.
Experience with standard network change management/configuration
management protocols.
Excellent written/oral communication skills.
