We need somebody with strong switching experience. The candidate will be working in a lab configuring different environments for test and development. The majority of the lab is running Cisco switches! Candidates must have strong Linux admin skills and have strong switch (Cisco preferred) set-up and administration skills.


Summary
The Hardware Systems Test Administrator will be responsible for providing planning, implementation, and support for a development/test lab and their associated processes. This person provide day-to-day monitoring and remediation for the test lab equipment including Cisco and 3Com networking devices, x86 based Windows and Linux servers, and proprietary Embedded devices. Candidates should thrive on working in a close, small team environment. This position requires pleasant interpersonal communication, plus analytical and problem solving skills.

Job Responsibilities
Linux server patch planning and management.
Provide support to hardware/software development and QA for lab equipment and tools.
Installation of new equipment specific to testing our proprietary products.
Hands-on support and troubleshooting to bring rapid solutions to problems involving complex and potentially unfamiliar configurations.
Assist in planning device test strategies based on design and engineering documents for the devices.
Develop and maintain automation code-bases for lab solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience in Linux server and network configuration administration.
Experience with networking (switches, routers) and security (firewalls, IPS, VPN) equipment.
Familiarity with Pentium-based computer architecture including peripherals, desktops, servers, and x86 based Embedded devices.
Experience analyzing network traffic data to identify problem areas.
Must be familiar with administrating Windows based security domains.
TCP/IPv4,6 network planning and administration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Competent in bash Shell scripting
Exposure to either Python or Perl
Thorough understanding of object-oriented principles.
SQL-based, Web development experience
